Summer Positions Available at Occoneechee

MAINTENANCE/GROUNDS

This is a Full Time Temporary to possibly Permanent position. Weekend and Holiday availability required

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years old with a valid NC Drivers License.
• Physically able to lift 60 pounds repeatedly
• Spend majority of work day standing/walking
• Spend majority of work day outdoors in elements
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently
• Understand the need for attention to detail, promptness, cleanliness, and urgency in approaching the work day and completing tasks
• Availability the week of June 10th will be required for consideration.
• Availability the week of July 4th (including the actual holiday) will be required for consideration.
• Availability of at least every other weekend will be required for consideration

Duties

• Maintenance of Turf areas of golf course by mowing, weedeating, fertilization, weed control as directed
• Use of shovels, rakes and other hand tools as required to install or repair irrigation or drainage as directed
• Maintain sand traps and bunkers with hand and mechanical equipment
• Minor maintenance and repair of equipment used to complete daily tasks
• Course setup and maintenance on weekend mornings
• Minor tree work and cleanup as directed

PRO SHOP/DRIVING RANGE

This is a Part Time Seasonal position. Weekend and Holiday availability required

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years old with a valid NC Drivers License.
• Physically able to lift 60 pounds repeatedly
• Spend majority of work day standing/walking
• Basic knowledge of Windows Based Computers
• Ability to create and maintain relationships with customers and co-workers
• Ability to maintain a welcoming environment for new AND repeat customers
• Understand the need for attention to detail, promptness, cleanliness, and urgency in approaching the work day and completing tasks
• Availability the week of July 4th (including the actual holiday) will be required for consideration.
• Availability at least every other weekend will be required for consideration.

Duties

• Maintain a welcoming environment for new and existing customers
• Complete cash register transactions with the customer in a friendly, efficient way while maintaining financial accuracy
• Have short telephone conversations to give information about Occoneechee to potential customers, make accurate tee times for customers, and forward messages to appropriate staff
• Maintain accurate financial transactions, both cash and credit
• Assist with collection, cleaning, and restocking of Driving Range golf balls throughout the day
• Maintain cleanliness around ProShop, Driving Range, and Parking Lot
• Refill Drinking Water on course and collect trash around course throughout the day
• Wash and maintain cleanliness of golf carts
• Maintain fuel in Gas Carts as needed or directed and confirm Electric Carts are on charge at the end of every day.
