Join our team as an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent/Spray Technician and play a vital role in maintaining the condition of Occoneechee Golf Club. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work closely with the Golf Course Management team, assisting in daily turf management, landscape maintenance, and ensuring optimal playability. As a key contributor, you will help uphold the highest standards of course aesthetics and functionality while gaining valuable experience in Turfgrass care, irrigation systems, and landscaping practices. Responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily landscape maintenance tasks to keep the golf course in excellent condition, including mowing, edging, and trimming using hand tools and power tools.
• Complete or Supervise daily course setup
• Support irrigation system operations by inspecting, troubleshooting, and performing routine adjustments to ensure proper watering schedules.
• Help with pesticide and fertilization programs by applying treatments safely and accurately as directed.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and other landscaping tools to ensure optimal performance.
• Contribute to turf health by monitoring soil conditions, aerating greens, and assisting with development and implementation of on-course projects.
• Assume Superintendent Responsibilities in absence of Superintendent or Owner including weekends and Holidays as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Experience in safely applying Turf Fertilizers and Pesticides
• General Knowledge of Spray and Granular Turf Health Application Systems, calibration, and application techniques
• Basic knowledge of irrigation systems, landscaping techniques, and lawn care practices.
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and turf maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
• Strong work ethic with a proactive attitude toward maintenance tasks and teamwork.
• Good physical stamina for outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Excellent attention to detail to ensure high standards of course presentation.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Previous experience in Golf Maintenance is preferred. 
• NC Pesticide License in hand or completion of Pesticide Class with passed exam within 3 months of start.
